Life Seasons and Age Points in the Destiny Matrix

Life seasons in this calculator are a calendar of age-gates on the outer octagram, plus midpoint years the engine stores as further pair sums. The reading chapter is Life seasons. It is a map of flavours, not a prediction of events. This page shows the seats, the ages the report assigns them, and how each number 1–22 reads when it sits on a gate.

What the Life seasons chapter uses

The Life seasons chapter uses the eight outer corners, in this order: H, A, F, B, G, C, I, D. That is the reading the 27-chapter list opens.

The engine also fills midpoints on each arc (age 5, 15, 25…) and smaller steps between them. The calendar treats the corners as ages 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and the first midpoints as 5, 15, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75. Those ages are a labelling convention, not a promise that something will happen on a birthday.

The eight corners as a clock

Starting at the left (A, age 0 in the calendar), the life line runs clockwise around the octagram: F at 10, B at 20, G at 30, C at 40, I at 50, D at 60, H at 70, then back toward A.

Life-season corners on the example chart for 14 March 1992 Outer points A 14, F 17, B 3, G 6, C 21, I 5, D 11, H 7 highlighted. 14 A 3 B 21 C 11 D 13 E 17 F 6 G 7 H 5 I
Example 14 March 1992. Corners: A0=14, F10=17, B20=3, G30=6, C40=21, I50=5, D60=11, H70=7.

Corner points you already have, and the midpoints the engine adds

A, B, C, D, F, G, H and I are the ordinary octagram points. The first midpoint on each arc is the pair sum of its two corners:

  • Age 5 af = reduce(A + F)
  • Age 15 fb = reduce(F + B)
  • Age 25 bg = reduce(B + G)
  • Age 35 gc = reduce(G + C)
  • Age 45 ci = reduce(C + I)
  • Age 55 id = reduce(I + D)
  • Age 65 dh = reduce(D + H)
  • Age 75 ha = reduce(H + A)

Further steps on each arc exist in the year table for finer painting. The Life seasons chapter itself still highlights the eight corners. Each midpoint uses the same reduction rule as the rest of the chart.

How to read a season without asking for a plot twist

A gate is a flavour for a stretch of years: what gets easier, what gets expensive, what the decade is asking you to practise. It is not a date of marriage, illness, windfall or death. If two neighbouring gates share a number, that theme has a long lease. If your current age sits between two corners, read both, and the midpoint if the engine shows it.

How each number reads as a decade flavour

Written for age-gates, not for talents, purpose or the karmic tail.

  1. 1 The Magician. A Magician year-gate is a start: a first page, a move, a name. If you use it, begin one thing you can still be holding at the next corner. Collecting sparks is how this season leaks.
  2. 2 The High Priestess. A Priestess period asks for a true sentence after a quiet read. If decisions wait until the decade turns, this gate goes unused.
  3. 3 The Empress. An Empress season grows something you can share. Over-giving until the till is empty is the gate under strain, not generosity.
  4. 4 The Emperor. An Emperor gate wants a frame — a rule, a book, a boundary that can last the decade. Control for its own sake can make the next corner heavier.
  5. 5 The Hierophant. A Hierophant period updates a method. Clinging to last decade’s syllabus is how this age-point freezes.
  6. 6 The Lovers. A Lovers gate is a choice: a person, a place, a we. Interviews that never become a pick waste the season.
  7. 7 The Chariot. A Chariot period wants a finish other people can see. Speed without a delivery can arrive at the next corner empty-handed.
  8. 8 Justice. A Justice gate closes a file. Scorekeeping into the next decade is the same case still open.
  9. 9 The Hermit. A Hermit season finishes a thought and brings it back. Isolation that never publishes is a lamp burning through the years.
  10. 10 Wheel of Fortune. A Wheel gate is a window. Shoving a locked door, or refusing a solid one for a shinier maybe, is the season spent.
  11. 11 Strength. A Strength period lends capacity and then refills. Heroics that vanish after the crisis can look like a second abandonment at the next corner.
  12. 12 The Hanged Man. A Hanged-Man gate ends a wait that was never yours. Staying on the rope “until it improves” is how a decade disappears.
  13. 13 Death. A Death season closes a chapter cleanly. Almost-closures can travel with you into the next age-point.
  14. 14 Temperance. A Temperance gate practises a middle. Feast-or-ice as the decade’s weather can exhaust the following corner.
  15. 15 The Devil. A Devil period names an appetite and prices it. An unwritten bargain may still be running at the next gate.
  16. 16 The Tower. A Tower season names the crack while there is a floor. Waiting for lightning so you do not have to talk spends the years on weather.
  17. 17 The Star. A Star gate places one finished thing in public. Perfect conditions are a cupboard that can last a decade.
  18. 18 The Moon. A Moon period aims one picture at a Tuesday. Inherited films treated as news can still be playing later if you let them.
  19. 19 The Sun. A Sun season makes something warm that does not need you “on” every hour. Martyr-sun can tire the next gate in advance.
  20. 20 Annunciation. An Annunciation gate breaks one inherited rule in a small, kind way. Arguing the family play for a decade is not the same as a different Tuesday.
  21. 21 The Universe. A Universe period ships a local loop, then lets it grow. A global map that never leaves the desk is a decade of décor.
  22. 22 Freedom. A Freedom gate keeps one rail and still has a door. Exits unnamed can become the only story the next corner inherits.

Worked example: 14 March 1992

Corners (already on the octagram):

First midpoints:

Someone living this invented date in their thirties would be between G (6, The Lovers) and C (21, The Universe), with a 35-gate of 9 (The Hermit). That is a picture of choice meeting scale, with a research year in the middle — not a forecast. Confirm the corners on the free Destiny Matrix chart calculator.

Reading the season you are actually in

Name your current corner and the next one. Give the current flavour one honest hour this week. Then look at life purpose and talents — a decade that ignores those two will feel busy and still be someone else’s calendar.
